Beating obesity is the key to beating disease. Being overweight leads to a great many killer illnesses that could be avoided with a little adjustment to lifestyle and eating habits.
Diet and exercise compliment each other. One balances the other and the fact is if you exercise sensible, you can eat more. Logically, the more calories you burn, the more calories you might consume, which is always good news! The thing is, all that grinding exercise is going to be painful, right? Wrong! The word 'exercise' conjures all the wrong images in the mind of the average overweight person. Exercise is always thought to consist of pummelling the sidewalk for hours before breakfast, pouring sweat, followed by a long soak to relieve agonised muscles.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Exercise need only take a few minutes of your time each day - although most people find success intoxicating and over time, more of the day is used for pleasurable exercise that includes walking the dog; playing with the kids; sport; dancing and a whole list of stuff you never used to be able to manage.

Exercise that is targeted in the right places can be so effective it can be completed in less than ten minutes - eight in fact! Intense, interval based exercising tones muscle effectively rather than pounding fat over hours and hours of slow, cardio based training. Which would you rather do? It's hardly rocket science to choose eight minutes over three hours of precious time.
Making the choice is one thing - implementing the regime is up to you. An exercise program that burns calories works far better when your eating plan includes the right amount of protein balances with carbohydrates and healthy fats. Take some time to find a diet that is right for you and one that helps your digestive system heal after years of being abused on your 'let's see how fat I can get' eating plan. You have done a lot of damage and your body will heal but it takes a little intelligent attention to get back to optimum performance.
After only a couple of weeks on a sensible diet and rigidly sticking with your few minutes of daily intense exercise training plan, the difference in your energy levels will astound you. Your respiratory capabilities will improve so you can make the stairs instead of always taking the elevator; your skin will lose its puffiness and shadowy lumpiness; you will perspire less; you will feel great.
You can do this - try it!
