Breast Augmentation Planning

Time to Recover

Before you go in for the breast augmentation you want to make sure that everything is going to be handled while you are spending time at home recovering. This means that you are going to need to take some time away from work.

You can talk to your doctor about exactly how much time you are going to need and whether or not it is possible to do some of the work from home. Once you have a good idea of how many vacation or sick days you will need, be sure to turn in the paperwork to the human resources department. Waiting till the last minute can be a problem.

Taking Care of Family

If you have children at home make sure that someone will be able to help you take care of them. When you first get home from the procedure someone will need to be responsible for them. As you begin to feel better you will be able to do more and more. Make sure that you find someone to take the kids to school, sports practices, or any other commitments that they have. Driving isn't something that you are going to be doing right away.

Breast Augmentation - Planning Ahead For Best Size and Results

breast augmentation

While most women report that they are generally happy that they went through with a breast augmentation procedure, up to half of the recipients report that they wish they had chosen a different implant size. Understanding this, doctors and implant manufacturers have developed a variety of resources so that anyone considering this procedure today does not have to experience the same regrets. Rather, you can be well researched and prepared from the start. Here is an overview on how to look your best and feel good about the final results.

Trying on sizes

The traditional way to try out a new size is to stuff a plastic baggie with rice or panty hose, using one cup of filler for each cup size you want to add. This is no longer necessary with complete sizing kits available from manufacturers such as Purlz and Natrelle. The kits usually contain 1-3 sets of implants plus a bra that can adjust to hold them. You can try out different sizes, or while bra shopping.

Breast Augmentation - The Recovery Period

augmentation procedure

Breast augmentation usually refers to the addition of implants in the chest area to improve the appearance of the woman. These implants are usually filled with a substance that mimics the real thing. There are two common choices for the kind of implant the patient might use. These are the saline filled and silicone filled implants. Incisions are made in conjunction to the type of augmentation procedure the doctor will use. The recovery period usually starts right after the operation, in what is commonly called the recovery room and will extend for several months after that.

At Home

Ice packs can really help with the swelling and the discomfort brought about by breast augmentation. Nurses usually apply these directly after the operation in the recovery room to help quell the swelling that usually follows. The surgeon might recommend the application for two days after the procedure. Any standard pack will do but some suggestions include a pack of peas or berries since these conform better to the natural contour of the woman and have a degree of softness compared to ice cubes. The swelling goes down somewhat after several days but there will be some degree of it left for several months. Cutting down on salt intake can help but it is to be expected that the swelling will be present for a few months after the procedure.

Breast Augmentation - Questions You Need to Ask

answered about

One of the best ways to be prepared for a breast augmentation is by being knowledgeable and informed. Who better to ask than your surgeon? Here are some questions to have answered about this procedure:

What will augmentation do? What won't it do? This method entails surgically inserting an implant filled with either saline or silicone solution under the chest muscle or breast tissue. It will add fullness to the area, but it won't lift saggy skin. Your surgeon will let you know if this procedure will give you the results that you're looking for.

What are the risks of complications? All medical procedures have some element of risk. Ask your doctor if there are any risks specific to your health and medical condition. Typical risks include adverse reaction to anesthetic, unsightly scarring, loss of nipple sensitivity, rupture of the implant and encapsulation of the area, resulting in hardening of the tissue.

Burning Fat with the Abs Diet

healthy eating

If you're one of those people who try diet after diet you'll eventually get to thinking you know all there is to know about healthy eating. It doesn't take much to get first hand knowledge of all the main diet concepts and discover the benefits of each one and how it is meant to improve the body. Once you know all the ins and outs of healthy eating I'm sure you presume nothing will take you by surprise anymore. So let me introduce the Abs Diet which is an unusual variation on weight loss through exercise.

The basic concept is this: the body must burn energy to keep the major organs and muscles functioning and healthy. Any muscle mass gain will force the body into using up more energy. So instead of eating less food to reduce weight, the abs diet concentrates on burning up additional energy, much more than would normally be expended. The excess muscle mass absorbs what would have been stored as fat from the food calories eaten and forces the body to burn off any existing fat expending energy.
